A spike in terror-related arrests shows that the threat of attacks in Britain is more intense than ever

  • UK law enforcement made a record number of terrorism-related arrests in the past year.
  • Even discounting arrests related to the Westminster, Manchester, London Bridge, and Finsbury Park attacks, the number is much higher than previous years.
  • Over 90% of terror-related detainees held Islamist extremist views.

The United Kingdom made a record number of terrorism-related arrests over the past year, newly-released government data show.

Police made 379 terrorism-related arrests between June 2016 and June 2017, according to Home Office statistics released on Thursday.
