Why Some Flights Get a Water Canon Salute

Chief Warrant Officer 5 Brett W. Haskin flew his final mission flight on May 6, 2022 while serving as the Brigade Aviation Maintenance Officer for 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division/ROK-U.S. Combined Division and was greeted with a water canon salute from the Camp Humphreys Fire Department upon his taxi on the tarmac.

During Exercise KAMANDAG in Palawan, Philippines, Marines with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit Command Element had the opportunity to improve their martial arts skills and belt up in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program while deployed. For one Marine, it was his passion for teaching that drove him to mentor Marines in MCMAP on his off hours, in addition to supporting the11th MEU’s mission on deployment.
