South Korean marines with the 1st Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Regiment patrol up a hill to conduct a simulated assault on opposing forces at the Kahuku Training Area in Hawaii on July 11, 2014, during Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2014. The South Korean Marines partnered with US Marines assigned to India Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment New Zealand soldiers. RIMPAC is a US Pacific Fleet-hosted biennial multinational maritime exercise designed to foster and sustain international cooperation on the security of the world’s oceans.
