I spent almost a year living in Zurich and was shocked at the level of efficiency and visible tax dollars at work within Switzerland. Most countries could learn a thing from the Swiss on how to effectively disperse and manage taxes.
It was the first time in my life that I lived in a country where I would have been happy to pay my taxes, knowing they would go to good use.
Everything just works: healthcare, college, great food, transportation, and more.
We all know this is not the case in America, where Big Gulps are turning our youth into diabetic zombies, and we use credit like a fentanyl addict on government welfare.
Now, the battle against the bloated underbelly of American government waste that siphons our hard-earned taxpayer dollars into the abyss of inefficiency. And it’s about F’ng time we take a scalpel to this bureaucratic flab, and as expected, the entrenched political and lobbying hogs are squealing.
The Department of Government Efficiency: A Necessary Offensive
Enter the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), spearheaded by none other than Elon Musk. The guy doesn’t need any more money and single-handedly put America back in the space race. Now, he’s volunteered, much to his own detriment, to take on the mission of identifying and eliminating wasteful government spending. DOGE has already uncovered some staggering examples of fiscal irresponsibility.
How many thousands over the age of 100 were still collecting Social Security?
The Pentagon’s Financial Fiasco
Consider the Department of Defense (DoD), an institution that should epitomize precision. A 2015 internal audit revealed a jaw-dropping $125 billion in bureaucratic waste over five years. Instead of addressing the issue, senior officials reportedly buried the report to avoid political fallout. Fast forward to 2022, and the DoD failed its fifth consecutive audit, unable to account for more than 60% of its $3.5 trillion in assets. This isn’t just a rounding error; it’s a systemic failure that undermines our military’s effectiveness and our nation’s financial integrity.

Hopefully, Pete Hegseth is tackling this as well.
Medicaid’s Double Dipping Debacle
Healthcare is another arena where waste runs rampant. Over a recent three-year span, taxpayers were bilked out of $4.3 billion due to state Medicaid systems paying private insurers twice for the same patients. This occurred when individuals moved states without canceling previous coverage, leading to dual enrollments and payments. Major insurers like Centene and UnitedHealth Group benefited handsomely from these duplicative payments, highlighting glaring inefficiencies in our healthcare system.
Is it any wonder the crowd cheers when the United Health CEO was gunned down on the streets of Manhattan?
This should be a wake-up call.
The Circus of Absurd Expenditures
The absurdity doesn’t end there. The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) spent $365,000 to promote circus performances in city parks. While the arts are vital, one must question if funding clowns and trapeze artists is the best use of taxpayer money amidst pressing national concerns and predatory student lending.
How about we send kids to college with taxpayer money? Or stop funding Universities with billions of taxpayer money when they are already sitting on billions in endowments that could fund free tuition and operational expenses indefinitely from their current investment income!

The Backlash: When the Hogs Squeal
Predictably, efforts to cut this governmental fat have been met with resistance. Bureaucrats and special interest groups, long accustomed to their lavish slices of the federal pie, are crying foul. They argue that cuts threaten jobs and essential services. However, this outcry often serves as a smokescreen to protect entrenched interests and maintain the status quo.
The Path Forward: Embracing Efficiency
The mission is clear: we must continue to identify and eliminate wasteful spending. This requires transparency, accountability, and the political will to make tough decisions. Initiatives like DOGE represent a step in the right direction, but the journey is far from over.
As citizens, we must demand fiscal responsibility from our leaders. Every dollar wasted is a dollar not spent on education, infrastructure, or supporting our troops. Let’s cut through the noise, silence the squealing hogs, and get to a more efficient government that truly serves the people.
