SEAL Qualification Training (SQT) is a grueling 26-week course that takes basic skills already learned and refines them through high-pace tactical training. The point of SQT is to provide the trainee with the tactical skills needed before reaching the platoon.
Advanced weapons, small-unit tactics, land navigation, SERE, static-line and free-fall parachute operations, demolitions, cold-weather training, medical skills, and maritime operations make up this hefty core curriculum.
Once the trainee has completed these requirements, they’re presented with the SEAL trident, designating them as Navy SEALs.
