A suicide car bombing at the Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan wounded five people and killed the lone attacker, Chinese state media said.
The attack in the Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek took place at about 9:32 a.m. local time Tuesday, when the attacker rammed the vehicle through the embassy gate, according to China’s state-run Xinhua News Agency.
The explosion—equivalent to 100 kilograms of TNT—injured three Kyrgyz employees and two security guards, while damaging the embassy compound and nearby buildings, Xinhua added.

Authorities didn’t say who they thought was behind the bombing. Kyrgyz officials were trying to identify the attacker through DNA samples, Xinhua said.
Kyrgyzstan’s deputy prime minister, Zhenish Razakov, described the bombing as a suicide attack, in comments he made to Russian news agency Interfax and local media. He identified the vehicle as a Mitsubishi Delica, a line of small vans and pickup trucks.
