Last week a Time reporter photographed a private US jet (N604EP) at Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport.

SOFREP has confirmed, through intel sources, that the private jet contained mining and engineering businessman from the Republic of Ghana. The aircraft is leased to Ibrahim Mahama, the wealthy brother of Ghana’s President John Mahama. The trip had nothing to do with any covert actions or violating sanctions.

It’s common for OCONUS (Outside the Contiguous US) businesses and heads of state to lease or charter US aircraft because of well trained American pilots and the maintenance programs that come with these arrangements.
