Love makes the world go round. At least that’s what they say. Finding your one true love, though, could be difficult sometimes. Factors like compatibility with goals, beliefs, religions, spending habits, heck, even zodiac signs had to be considered. What’s harder is if you don’t have much time to date and get to know people because you keep getting deployed. Yep, that’s the military life. Good thing, some genius came up with dating sites exclusive to those serving the country.
Before let’s have a look at these websites, let’s discuss briefly first why one would bother to check out these sites instead of, you know, going out and meeting people like the usual, traditional way.
Online dating apps are not new. There’s been Tinder, and Bumble and even Facebook created their in-app dating page. Getting to know people without having to set out of your home and dress up is pretty convenient. So instead of heading out of your local bar in hopes to meet someone with who you can have a connection, you could simply create an account and let the dating world know of your existence. Plus, you get to choose your stunning photos. You don’t also run the risk of catching COVID while trying to chitchat with this cute person.

Although, you have to be mindful of the risks that come along with its convenience.
News flash: Not everything you see on the internet is real. Soldiers are attractive not only to some civilians but also to scammers and catfishers too. That Stacey that you’ve been talking to for two months now could really be a Greg sitting on his couch while scratching his behind as he replies to your cheesy messages. In 2018, a service member fell victim to catfishing done by prisoners. According to the report, “…Army officials and South Carolina law enforcement revealed that young soldiers have allegedly been getting duped into funneling cash to prison inmates following text message exchanges featuring nude photos of women the soldiers believed they were conversing with.”
Here are some dating sites specifically made for service people (or those who like them!):
According to their website, they are the first military dating website to “bring together single members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, Police Force, and Firefighters — as well as civilians, veterans.” Their free features include registration, browsing, and messaging. They also have forums, videos, military news, and fun date ideas.
“If your idea of the perfect mate is Military enlisted, or a Military officer, or simply an admirer of our brave men and women who work for the U.S. Military, then you’re at the right place.”
You can set up a free account that would let you post photos, view other profiles, choose your favorite members, and even search for a specific member. Their website also boasts that their site is also mobile-friendly.
This website does not only advertise finding love through the website but also friendship. Their highlight was that members could save time finding people who would put up with the military way of life. As they said, “Imagine yourself returning from a long, foreign deployment to a bear hug from that special person with whom you’ve been corresponding online, and who knows everything you’ve gone through. Sparks online could turn into a full-out blaze in person.” They offer both free basic membership and a paid premium one, although the difference was not quite explained.
What’s different about this website is that’s it’s made explicitly for black military men and women looking for dates.
According to them, “..if you are a black military man or woman or are interested in meeting a black military man or woman, then this is obviously the ultimate dating site for you.”
