Pat Tillman left a promising carrier in the NFL to join the elite 75th Ranger Regiment and fight those who had attacked America on 9/11. As a member of the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, he participated in the invasion of Iraq in 2003 and also deployed to Afghanistan in 2004. It was during that deployment that Tillman was killed in a blue-on-blue incident by fellow Rangers.
