Updated: Travis Air Force Base on lockdown following a ‘real world security incident’

Travis Air Force Base in Northern California is on lockdown following a “real world security incident” according to their social media accounts. Local news spoke with personnel on base and they indicated an active shooter is believed to be in the BX shopping center and food court area. People are still being advised to shelter in place. The main gate has been closed since 4:00pm PST. More to follow as this situation is still developing.

Update 20:30 EST– Travis AFB has been given the ‘all clear’ after the base was placed on lockdown. According to their latest update on social media, Travis AFB emergency personnel responded to reports of shots being fired at the BX which ended up being a false alarm.
