In the gritty, innovative crucible of Bakhmut, a Ukrainian soldier has ingeniously repurposed Bulgarian HE 60MA 60mm mortar rounds into formidable hand grenades, showcasing battlefield adaptability at its finest.

Today, SOFREP features, as our Pic of the Day, two Bulgarian HE 60MA 60mm mortar rounds converted into hand grenades by an enterprising Ukrainian soldier in Bakhmut. It would appear that he removed the rear section and installed a hand grenade fuze. What do you think, would you pull the pin on one of these?

Above is a “before” picture. The grenade/mortar round boasts 200 grams (7oz) of high explosive (TNT).  For the record, the venerable American M67 hand grenade is filled with 6.5 oz of composition B high explosive.

The more I think about it, perhaps these aren’t intended to be thrown by hand (although they could be). Chances are these have been modified to be released by drones.
