The soldiers conducted conventional amphibious reconnaissance, security and raiding tasks throughout North Queensland to prepare them to conduct Combined and Joint Task Force operations, and maintain combat readiness and understanding of amphibious tactics, techniques, and procedures.

The 2nd Battalion (Amphibious), The Royal Australian Regiment is the Australian Army’s specialized amphibious unit that is responsible for conducting pre-landing force actions in support of the Australian Amphibious Force and coalition partners.
