Several days ago, the Pentagon reversed its decision to bring the USS Nimitz and its accompanying Carrier Strike Group home in response to threats from Iran which outlined a 9/11-type attack on the United States Capitol. Reports of Iran seizing a Korean oil tanker increased the need for a strong presence in the Gulf.
