In a dramatic escalation of tensions between Ukraine and Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a dire warning on Sunday, foretelling the imminent arrival of war on Russian soil. The somber announcement came in the aftermath of three Ukrainian drones being downed over Moscow, heightening the already precarious conflict between the two neighboring nations. As the use of drones becomes an increasingly common and deadly tactic, President Zelensky’s bold assertion signals a growing determination to confront the aggressor on its own territory. With each attack, the prospects of peace seem to diminish, setting the stage for a perilous and uncertain future in the region.

A Stern Warning

On Sunday, Zelensky issued a strong caution, alerting that war was encroaching upon Russia, following the downing of three Ukrainian drones over Moscow. The conflict between the neighboring countries has reached unprecedented levels, with increased frequency and intensity of drone attacks.

During a visit to the western city of Ivano-Frankivsk, the Ukrainian President declared that attacks on Russian territory were an “inevitable, natural, and absolutely fair process.” He emphasized that Kyiv’s strength was growing but also issued a somber warning about the possibility of a fresh attack on its energy infrastructure during the winter.

“We must be aware that, just as last year, Russian terrorists can still attack our energy sector and critical facilities this winter,”

Zelensky said, highlighting the need for preparations to tackle all possible scenarios.
