From tribal honor codes to elaborate chivalric ideals, from the professional ethos of standing armies to the democratic spirit of citizen soldiers, military culture has evolved dramatically, reflecting a fascinating dance between society, technology, geopolitics, and the soldiers who serve.

In today’s world, the fires of patriotism appear to be dwindling in the hearts of our youth, replaced by an inclination for personal gain and self-preservation; we must rekindle these dormant sparks of valor and dedication that I firmly believe still reside in our nation’s young men.
