China has conducted a massive joint military exercise in the areas surrounding the island of Taiwan, further heightening tensions in Asia.

“Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, a fact and status quo that no one can change,” Chinese Minister of National Defense General Wei Fenghe said.

In anticipation of a possible invasion from Beijing, Taiwan has released its first war survival handbook to help prepare the public for any military confrontation with China.

With the possibility of an invasion looming, Taiwan looks closely at Ukraine for inspiration, with China observing very closely how the world is reacting to Russia’s invasion. Will it be the next epicenter of war after Ukraine?

Taiwan has never been a participant in the U.S. Navy’s largest military exercise, the Rim of the Pacific or RIMPAC. Aggression by Communist China has prompted Congress to tell the Department of Defense to include Taiwan in the next RIMPAC as a show of solidarity with the island nation.

SOFREP looks at the “Doomsday” scenario making the rounds on TV that fears Russia and China will act in concert to invade Taiwan and Ukraine.

China will take over Taiwan and there is not much America or Biden can do about it except bark loudly with no bite.

“We must do everything in our power to help Taiwan urgently strengthen its defenses,” Representative Hawley said.

The most elite bastion of defense against China, the special forces of Taiwan are an established partner of American special operation units.

In a war with China, allied and partner commando units that U.S. special operation forces have helped stand up or train would be an advantage for the U.S. military.

A White House spokesperson subsequently said the president’s comments on Taiwan had not signaled a shift in policy.

The situation in the Taiwan Strait is tense. Yet, has China become more dangerous or are the media exaggerating?
