Sept-Sorts, France– The driver of a silver BMW was arrested after intentionally driving into a pizzeria, killing an eight-year-old girl and injuring five others. The driver has only been identified as a 39-year-old man. According to the BBC, the incident is not being treated as a terrorist attack, rather it is being reported the driver was attempting to commit suicide.
According to RTL radio, the driver, 39, told police he had wanted to kill himself and had weapons in the car.

According to the prosecutor’s office in Meaux, the car was driven into the pizzeria as a “deliberate act” but the driver did not appear to be motivated by terrorism, le Parisien newspaper reports.- BBC
The victims in this incident have not been identified yet.
Today’s incident occurred less than a week after six soldiers were ran over in a suburb north of Paris on August 9th. That driver was shot several times and arrested shortly after the incident.
Update: AP recently reported that the little girl who was killed was actually 13-years-old. Her younger brother was also injured in the incident.
