Reeves was reportedly seen back at Taran Tactical Innovations, where he had trained for months for his role as the legendary John Wick to make his character believable to audiences.
Below, you can watch a clip of Keanu Reeves and Halle Berry, who was a key character in the third film, training hard at Taran Tactical before the filming began.
The series begins with legendary assassin John Wick (Keanu Reeves) retiring from his violent career after marrying the love of his life played by Bridget Moynihan. Yet, her sudden death leaves John in deep mourning. However, knowing she was about to die, she had arranged to have a puppy delivered to him to ease his anguish.
But when sadistic Iosef Tarasov (Alfie Allen), the son of Wick’s former employer, and his thugs steal John’s prized car and kill the puppy, John unleashes the remorseless killing machine within and seeks vengeance.
Those familiar with the series, know that John Wick went through a lot in the first three films, and in the third installment, was shot by his friend, Winston, in a seemingly bit of treachery.
What has been teased out for the fourth film, is that Winston, played by the fantastic Ian McShane, was forced into shooting Wick by the members of the High Table or lose his Continental Hotel. (The Continental is a series of hotels owned by the underworld’s High Table.) However, Winston meant to shoot him, but did he mean to kill him?
Fishburne returns for his role — he and Reeves have worked together not only in this series but in the Matrix series as well. Coincidentally, the next Matrix film is to be released at the same time next year. Look for an update on that later.
Also returning is the deep-voiced Lance Reddick as the multi-talented hotel concierge Charon.
Charon, who has appeared in all three films, is not your typical run-of-the-mill hotel concierge. He showcased that in a large shoot-out with High Table assassins in John Wick 3. In an interesting bit of trivia, Charon in Greek mythology serves as the ferryman to those entering the Underworld. As the Continental concierge, he fulfills the same purpose.
Joining the cast in John Wick 4 is martial arts expert Donnie Yen (Rogue One) who is expected to play an old friend of Wick’s sharing many of the same enemies. With him and the new villain of the series played by Marko Zaror, the fight sequences should be something to behold, as they always are.
Casual film fans may want to know what weapons John Wick uses in the films. During the Continental Shootout scene, Wick pulls out a highly modified Taran Tactical Combat Master, a 9mm pistol with a 22-round capacity and a stippled grip.
This pistol is renowned for being easy to shoot and very easy to use. It’s also one of the more expensive handguns on the market at approximately $5,000 dollars.
John Wick also uses an H&K P30L, a SigSauer P320, a Kimber Warrior, and my personal favorite… a pencil.
