Nemo Fillo backpacking & camping pillow

An often overlooked item when it comes to camping/backpacking (even hunting) is a pillow. With space at a premium people will settle for a rolled up coat, or a balled up sweater and call it a night. In a pinch these tactics can work, but what if there was a better way? There is, and its called Nemo. Nemo, an outdoor company that specializes in the sleep category (tentssleeping bags, sleeping pads, and pillows), with an emphasis on high-quality, low-weight.

Nemo has a variety of backpacking/camping pillows to choose from. I decided on the Fillo Luxury because of the “modular” pillow case. In short, this pillow has snap cords (small bungee cords) that allow me to add a coat/sweater to increase the overall thickness of the pillow. Take a look at the video below for a more in-depth look.

The Fillo Luxury retails for $49.95, but can be found on Promotive for slightly less. It may seem like a luxury item, but small comforts can go a long way towards a more successful outing. If you can’t get a good night sleep you won’t be at 100% the next day, and that will have an impact regardless of the activity. This is also a great option for the well-traveled. Having the ability to pull out a small pillow on a plane, train, or anywhere you want will always come in handy.
