The Founder of LeT and JSOC’s New Deadman Walking: Hafiz Saeed حافظ محمد سعید

LeT is the new Al Qaeda

You may as well get acquainted with the next dead man walking. Rest assured that JSOC has his number (along with other AQ and LeT Assassins).  I don’t give a shit about bipartisan bullshit personally, and no matter what political tree you lean on, Obama has no trouble flipping the ST-6 or Delta Kill switch; it will happen faster than you can say “Please, no more prisoners at Guantanimo Bay”. I just wish I could see the look on his face when he sees it coming.

Hafiz is the Amir of Jama’at-ud-Da’wah, a charity organization that is widely considered to be a cover organization for Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), one of the largest and most active militant Islamic organizations, operating mainly from Pakistan.  India considers him one of its most wanted terrorists because of his tie to LeT and his involvement in attacks against India.

Hafiz Muhammad Saeed was born in 1950 in Sargodha, Pakistan to a conservative family. His family is originally from Kashmir, and his father was in Simla, India before moving to Pakistan after the partition of India in the late 1940s. Saeed was born during this journey to Pakistan, and his family lost many members along their course.

Hafiz was the named given to him by his teachers, because by the time he was 12 he had memorized the entire Quran. He comes from a family of scholars and are known for their great knowledge. Saeed’s father was a scholar, his uncle a renowned and well-respected scholar, and his mother was also a well educated woman, who taught many women who sought to learn from her. His brothers and cousins are also respected scholars who have taught at many universities.

Hafiz Muhammad Saeed is married with two daughters and a son. His son is a professor seeking his PhD, while his daughter has also earned a college degree.

Saeed served on the council of Islamic Ideology,  and was a professor at the University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan, teaching Islamic Studies. Saeed has two masters degrees from the University of Punjab, and earned a specialization in Islamic Studies from King Saud University. Saeed also supported the Mujahideen (Muslims who struggle in following God) in Afghanistan in the early 80s, and founded LeT in 1987 with Abdullah Azzam.

As a result of the accusations of Saeed’s involvement with the December 13, 2001 attack on Lok Sabha, Saeed was arrested and put under house arrest in 2002. In 2006 he was arrested again after being suspected of being part of the Mumbai  train bombings in July of 2006. Finally, after the Mumbai attacks in 2008, India requested to the U.N Security Council to add Jamaat-ud-Dawa to their list of organizations associated with terrorism, claiming that Saeed was directly linekd to Lashkar-e-Taiba.
