A single passenger bi-plane lost power and tried to land on Interstate 80 Thursday afternoon east of Evanston, where it hit a tractor-trailer carrying pigs, authorities say.

The plane, which was traveling from Colorado to Utah, lost power to its engine shortly before 6 p.m., the Wyoming Highway Patrol said. The pilot attempted an emergency landing on the highway and hit the top of the tractor-trailer’s sleeper berth.

Nobody was injured in the crash, according to the highway patrol. The plane was severely damaged. – Casper Star Tribune
