FighterSweep Fans, we’ve received news that a Republic P-47 Thunderbolt has crashed into the Hudson River in New York City, where Fleet Week is currently underway. According to initial reports, the aircraft suffered an engine failure before it came down. Good news is the Police have reportedly pulled a survivor out of the water.

Police say a small plane has crashed in the Hudson River between New York and New Jersey and there’s at least one survivor in the water.

New Jersey state police say divers are in the water searching for possible additional survivors. It’s unclear how many people were on the plane.

The Federal Aviation Administration say it received a report a World War II vintage P-47 Thunderbolt aircraft may have gone down in the river 2 miles south of the George Washington Bridge. The aircraft belongs to a museum on Long Island.
