As communist China provocatively probes Uncle Sam with “spy” balloons and curiously placed dual-purpose ocean buoys, many Americans in positions of power sit idly by, not realizing that we are in the middle of a new cold war. The Chinese are building up their armed forces at an alarming rate and have brazenly threatened Taiwain, going as far as to warn that any foreign powers who collaborate with the self-governing island that they are “playing with fire.”
In January, a spokesman for China’s Taiwan Affairs Office said to the Associated Press that mainland China was committed this year to “smashing plots for Taiwan independence.” And still, the White House says we do not seek system change in China, all the while touting the evils of global warming and identifying a person using the wrong pronouns.
