USA Today runs a section called These are the best deals on Amazon this weekend. We can go one better and share our experiences on how to get Amazon’s best deals each and every day. (See Tip #4. This article is topical, too).

The Tips

  1. Amazon’s Outlet Store and Warehouse

Amazon’s Warehouse Outlet Store regularly axes 30-60% on items that include electronics, outdoors, home decor, kitchen gadgets, and more. On top of that, Amazon’s Warehouse Deals offers significant discounts on gently-used, open box and refurbished items, like computers and tablets, home and kitchen furniture and appliances, or unlocked cell phones and TVs. Amazon certifies that these products function. If you’re dissatisfied, return shipping is free.

  1. Price alerts

Set up price alerts with Amazon’s Online Price Alert. The tool monitors Amazon for price changes and emails you as soon as the price drops to your “target price”.

  1. Subscribe & Save

Amazon’s “Subscribe & Save” regularly deducts 15% off when you subscribe to five or more products for at least a month. Prime members unlock 20% savings on subscriptions that range from items like diapers, toothpaste, dog treats and more.

  1. Amazon Prime

Use Amazon Free Prime strategically. Amazon offers an annual one month free trial of their Prime service, which includes free two-day shipping and a bunch of other benefits. (You also get $5 when your order totals $10). If you’re a student, you get a 6-month trial. Some shoppers stagger this deal around December or November for free Holiday shipments.

  1. Amazon Rebates

Amazon offers you both mail-in rebates and online rebates.

Mail-in rebates – Print and mail the form with enclosed required documents, like sales receipts.

Online rebates – Enter your order number and email address and the system will track the rebate.

Make sure to submit by the postmarked deadline. You can check its status twenty-four hours after you’ve submitted the form, Both types of rebates require that you buy the item by the purchase deadline. You can’t return the item after submitting the form. Rebates take 12-15 weeks to process.

  1. CamelCamelCamel.com

Dispatch Amazon’s price tracker, CamelCamelCamel, to trek across Amazon’s desert for the cheapest price on millions of products. Insert your desired price on a wanted item. CamelCamelCamel tweets and emails you when prices drop.
