Mount Pleasant, South Carolina– FBI is investigating reports of a “dirty bomb” in a shipping container supposedly aboard a ship called Maersk Memphis in the Wando Terminal. According to local news, the terminal has already been evacuated. The Coast Guard, Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, HAZMAT crews, and EMS are on scene. So far, authorities have not found any evidence of explosives or radiation. It is unclear how the threat was made known to authorities at this time.

Update 09:15 am June 15, 2107: At approximately 0235 am, the Coast Guard gave the “all clear” after a “Unified Command” completed their investigation on four shipping containers. The bomb threat was a false alarm.
#update there were 4 containers where threat was posed at terminal in Charleston, SC. These have been scanned and cleared by authorities.
