Yesterday we all lost something. We lost a sense of peace, pride, innocence and family. Four families lost it all and in the coming days there may be more as multiple people are still fighting for their lives in the hospital.

What happened at Ft. Hood once again shattered our lives as we know it as military spouses. We worry about our husbands not making it home when they are deployed but we don’t worry about them at home. These people were on base, at work where they were supposed to be safe. It is a military base one of the safest places to be or should we say used to be.

These 3 people did not die in combat or in an accident like a car crash. This was cold blooded murder and it is different. I know it’s different because my father was murdered and it is not the same grief or process as other kinds of death. What these families are going through is unimaginable…
