In the recent Fuerzas Comando competition the team from Honduras took first place.  Fuerzas Comando is an annual competition that pits Special Operations teams from South and Central America against each other, with a US Special Forces team participating, in friendly competition.  This year the competition was hosted by Paraguay and included teams from over twenty countries.

Usually the team from 7th Special Forces Group places in the top five, but not first.  In the past some 7th Group soldiers have remarked to me that their teams have felt as if the judges were not adjudicating properly and that there may be some national pride involved in how decisions are made.  But that said, they Green Berets know that their primary job is building relationships and building rapport with their counter-parts in South and Central America so this issue is never pushed too hard.
