They say what goes around, comes around.
Two days ago, Hamas terror chief Yahya Sinwar was killed by Israeli ground forces in Gaza. Today, a drone attack originating from Lebanon and likely launched by Hezbollah targeted the private residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Caesarea, Israel. The incident involved three drones, two of which were intercepted, while the third struck a building near the residence. Fortunately, Netanyahu and his wife were not home during the attack, and no injuries were reported at his residence.
The residence in Caesarea is Netanyahu’s vacation home, not his primary residence.
The strike is clearly seen as an assassination attempt, coinciding with heightened tensions in the region due to ongoing conflicts with Hamas and Hezbollah.
Today’s attack follows recent threats from Hezbollah, which had vowed to increase its use of drones and rockets against Israel. In addition to the three drones, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated that approximately 55 projectiles were fired at northern Israel from Lebanon on Saturday morning. Some of the missiles were intercepted. Israel’s air defense systems were activated, with sirens blaring across northern Israel to warn of the incoming attacks from Lebanon. Unfortunately, a 50-year-old man was killed by shrapnel from the incoming missiles, and four others were wounded by it.

In response to the drone incident, Netanyahu vowed to continue military operations against groups like Hezbollah, stating that such attempts would not deter him from pursuing victory in the ongoing conflict.
Regarding the drone strike, Netanyahu is quoted as saying:
“The proxies of Iran who tried to assassinate me and my wife made a bitter mistake.”
The incident highlights the broader regional conflict, with Israel ramping up its military activities in Gaza and retaliating against Hezbollah’s provocations along the northern border. The escalation raises concerns about a potential larger-scale confrontation involving multiple fronts.
Hezbollah has yet to claim responsibility for the strike.
