The Islamic State claimed responsibility for bombing the Shah Noorani Sufi shrine in Pakistan killing at least 52 and wounding over one hundred people. Originally reported as 30 dead, the fatality count quickly rose and will more than likely continue to rise. Amaq News Agency reported the Islamic State carried out the attack against the worshipers at the Sufi shrine. Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack. According to Times of India, the blast occurred while people watched a Sufi dance called “dhamaal” at the Shah Noorani shrine. In June, a Sufi singer was killed in Pakistan by the Taliban.
