Twenty-six nations, 38 ships, three submarines, more than 30 unmanned systems, approximately 170 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC 2022 from June 29 to Aug. 4 in and around the waters of the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. RIMPAC is world’s largest international maritime exercise, giving US Navy and those of partner nations training opportunities to further cooperative relationships among participants that ensure the safety of sea lanes and security on the world’s oceans. RIMPAC 2022 is the 28th exercise of a line that began in 1971

PACIFIC OCEAN (July 12, 2022) Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2022 military forces from Australia, Canada, Malaysia and the U.S., fired upon and sunk the decommissioned ex-USS Rodney M. Davis (FFG 60), July 12, during a sinking exercise (SINKEX) to gain proficiency in tactics, targeting and live firing against a surface target at sea.
