Five people have been shot and injured in downtown Seattle, which is in close proximity to the anti-Trump protest location. Police stated that the protest and shooting appear to be unrelated. Local news stated via a live video feed, that the large group of protestors were not in the area at the time of the shooting and the area is known for high crime and drug usage. Local news also stated that police were able to respond to the scene within minutes due to the heavy police presence in the area from the protest.
On scene, the assistant police chief stated the victims are identified as four males and one female. The male victim is in critical condition. Three of the five victims were stuck in lower extremities and are in stable condition. He also stated that the shooting appears to be from a personal argument and a male suspect has fled the scene. Police are still looking for the gunman and have not released a name or detailed description.
Seattle FD has already transported at all five people to area hospitals. This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
