Gortex helps but, eventually you will be wet. Water will always find a way to get past water-resistant uniforms, clothing and boots. The water and mud just becomes part of life, like it becomes part of your food, sleep, etc. You just need to embrace the suck.

I believe those camos are fire resistant but are they also of a lightweight, durable fabric that doesn't add a lot of weight and chafing when it gets wet? (like mostly cotton would do) Just curious. I'm sure training in the muck and mud of a downpour is no fun whatever the weight of your clothes.

Thanks for your reply, D-G. I know that's a saying...but I could never "embrace" the suck. Maybe stop going on about it...but not stoic enough to embrace it. Sort of like putting a good face on a bad marriage. lol
