Today’s Pic of Day shows our own Geo Hand training with British SAS in his prime. That’s him, prone, in the foreground. They are using live ammunition. Once you get to this level in the game, blanks are a thing of the past.

The image was captured by British military photographers while their SAS conducted MOUT and dismounted patrol training with Delta Force.

According to the legendary Delta operator himself:

My assessment of SAS: they were as tough as we only thought we were.

Delta and SAS

Delta Force, the U.S. Army’s elite shadow warriors, and the British SAS, masters of special operations, share a bond forged in the crucible of covert warfare. These two units, steeped in a tradition of excellence and secrecy, regularly cross-train in a silent partnership that’s as much about mutual respect as it is about sharing lethal expertise.

The relationship isn’t one you’ll find in the headlines, but behind closed doors, Delta operators and SAS troopers swap tactics and stories, each honing the other’s edge. Whether it’s counterterrorism, hostage rescue, or the art of reconnaissance, these exercises are about pushing the limits and challenging the status quo of warfare.

In the world of special operations, where missions are as fluid as they are dangerous, the Delta-SAS partnership is a testament to the relentless pursuit of superiority on the modern battlefield. While the specifics of their joint training typically remain shrouded in secrecy, the outcome is clear: a sharper, deadlier force ready to take on the world’s most daunting challenges.

In short, it’s bad news for the bad guys.
