Several anti-US protestors outside the US Embassy in the Philippines are injured as many were run over by a police vehicle. Police also used tear gas on the 1000+ protestors as they tried to brake through the riot police line. Images of the crowd show signs calling for the removal of US troops from the Philippines and a foreign policy not dependent on the US. This mirrors recent rhetoric from the Philippine President Rodrigo Détente as he seems to be moving away from US alliance and joint military exercises.
