Since Hurricane Harvey started battering Texas nearly four days ago, images and videos of American military service personnel and civilians alike risking life, limb, and personal property to help people in the hardest hit areas have begun surfacing all over the internet.  Often, these glimpses into the tragic circumstances Americans find themselves in, with record-setting flooding and damage estimates that continue to climb, serve as a reminder to the rest of us that we should hug our families a little tighter, and count our blessings that we are not among those waiting for rescue.

But every once in a while, a video from flood-stricken Texas pops up that offers a reprieve from the tragedies these heroes are working to save their fellow Americans from.  Every once in a while, a video pops up that’s just good for a chuckle.

This is one of those videos.

In this footage, uploaded to Facebook by a warehouse manager from Houston Texas named Josh James, you can see a lifted Cadillac Escalade pulling what appears to be a stuck U.S. Army M1083 5 ton tactical cargo truck out of the flood waters.  The caption on the video, “When the Redneck Army has to save the US Army 😏 Our crew’s out here helping everyone!” pokes a bit of fun at the military personnel that managed to get their truck stuck – but serves to emphasize the way Americans of all races, religions, ideologies and backgrounds are coming together to help one another in the face of Harvey’s unprecedented destruction.

The U.S. Army, as well as the Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and countless National Guard units are hard at work, risking their lives to save others in Texas alongside law enforcement and first responders – but let’s not forget about the civilians manning bass-boat floatillas of the “Cajun Navy,” the “Redneck Army” of lifted pickup trucks, and the everyday folks that are doing all they can to help others in need.
