There was an officer involved shooting near the baggage claim at Dallas Love Field Airport today. Police officers were initially called for a domestic disturbance, which quickly escalated once the police arrived on scene. The suspect as wounded and the officer was reported to not have any injuries. According to a local news station,
Assistant Chief Randy Blankenbaker with the Dallas Police Department said it started with an argument between a woman and the father of her children before noon.
The suspect was throwing rocks at the woman’s car. An officer was alerted to the disturbance, came to her aid and was rushed by the suspect. The officer fired multiple shots, hitting the suspect, Blankenbaker said.
The unidentified male suspect was taken to a local hospital. Blankenbaker did not know his condition, but said he appeared to be conscious when he left in an ambulance.
Blankenbaker said the TSA made the decision to re-screen everyone because a number of people jumped through the security lines to take cover when they heard the gunshots.
