Delta Force

The Unit has seen extensive action in Grenada, Panama, Somalia, the Balkans, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria. Notable operations include the rescue of Kurt Muse in Pamana in 1989, the “Black Hawk Down” battle in 1993 in Somalia, and the raid that killed Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS, in 2019.

The month-long selection, also known as the Long Walk, in the mountains of West Virginia is considered one of the hardest Special Operations selection courses in the world. The follow-on Operator Training Course (OTC) ensures that only the cream of the crop gets to serve in the legendary unit.
