Suicide bombing in Pakistan mosque kills 24 during Friday prayer service

A suicide bombing in a remote village in Northwestern Pakistan called Pai Khan killed 24 and wounded at least 28. The bombing occurred inside a mosque during the Friday prayer service. At the time of the attack, 200 people were reported to have been inside the building. According to the New York Times, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar claimed responsibility for the attack because the local residents supported the Pakistan government.

Ahsanullah Ahsan, a spokesman for Jamaat-ul-Ahrar — the breakaway Taliban faction — claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement to media. He claimed the attacker targeted members of a pro-government militia.”- Fox News
