This afternoon police arrested an unidentified person after stabbing several people near Gregory Gym on the University of Texas Campus. Local news is reporting one dead and three others injured from the incident. The status of the three people injured is unknown at this time but they are all being treated at a local hospital.
One person is dead and three others have been taken to the hospital after a reported stabbing attack on the University of Texas campus Monday afternoon, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.”
University police said they have a suspect in custody, and the public is not in any immediate threat. Officials are asking the public to avoid the area of 21st Street and Speedway.”
Around 1:46 p.m. emergency officials first responded to the stabbing near Gregory Gym at 2101 Speedway.” – Austin American Statesman
Immediately after the stabbing there was some online backlash from students and faculty since they were not notified via the university alert system. Many of them stated they were notified from friends and relatives off campus.
