Desiree Huitt, managing editor of SOFREP.com, fills in this episode. She’s an 11-year veteran who served as a military intelligence officer with the Army and as a combat medic. We start off the show reacting to the terror attacks in New York, New Jersey, and Minnesota. Keep in mind that this was recorded Sunday morning before all the facts were out. We also get to some of your emails sent to [email protected].

Our guest this show is Amber Smith, a combat pilot with the Army who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Her book (out now) is titled, “Danger Close: My Epic Journey as a Combat Helicopter Pilot in Iraq and Afghanistan.” Amber talks with us about flying the Kiowa Warrior helicopter, and we get into the topic of women serving in combat. As a woman who has served in combat, she has some strong feelings toward some of the critics of the topic as you may imagine. She also shares a story about getting to work with President Bush that you’ll undoubtedly be inspired by.
