Hope you’re all ready to embark on a great New Year, SOFREP Underground. We packed a lot into this show, starting off with some Benghazi talk and Brandon giving a Throat Punch of the Week to New York Times writer David Kirkpatrick for his fluff piece on Benghazi.

We call over to our friend Joshua Lees, at his bar Mulligan’s in Hoboken, NJ, to speak with him and former Army Ranger Mike Schlitz. Josh is a SOF guy who served in Civil Affairs in Iraq and Congo, and wrote a No Shit There I Was piece about his experience for the site back in February. We’re glad to have Mike Schlitz back on again! Mike was badly wounded by an IED in Baghdad – he suffered burns on over 85% of his body, lost his arms, ears and nose, among other major wounds, and has not only lived to tell about it, but has emerged from it as an inspiration to many and an advocate for veterans. You can find Mike on Twitter @RangerSchlitz, and learn more about his story from the piece he wrote on Ranger Up.

We also hop on with Jonathan Wade, a Canadian Forces vet who’s one of the newest writers to the site. We talk about his background, as well as Canada exiting Afghanistan.

Once again, have a Happy New Year, we have a lot in store for 2014, starting with a fill in on The Wilkow Majority this Friday, January 3rd, from 12-3PM EST on Sirius XM Patriot 125.
