The Army and family members are looking for answers in the death of a Louisiana recruiter who was struck and killed by a car on Oct. 28.
Staff Sgt. Donisha Stroman, 25, and a friend were coming home from a night out and had pulled over to the side of the road in Lake Charles, Louisiana, when Stroman was struck by a light-colored truck, according to an Army Recruiting Command spokesman.
Stroman and a friend had gotten out of the car to look for a jewelry box that had fallen from another friend’s vehicle, according to the Lake Charles Police Department.
“And that’s when Sgt. Stroman was struck by a passing vehicle and the driver left the scene,” Brian Sutton, the Recruiting Command spokesman, told Army Times on Monday.
The incident happened about 11:23 p.m. Oct. 28 on the shoulder of McNeese Street near the intersection of South Park Road, according to the Lake Charles Police Department.
