Here we see US Army Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha (ODA) Commander Geoff Bruce in Afghanistan, 2002. Captain Bruce is calling in an airstrike on a compound near Narizah, Afghanistan, as part of Operation Mountain Sweep.

Mountain Sweep began on 18 August 2002 and took place mainly around the villages of Gardez and Khowst. More than 2,000 US troops (including soldiers from 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group) took part in the operation, which ended on 26 August. The mission was to roust al Qaeda and Taliban forces in the area. Five weapons caches were discovered, along with two caches of Taliban documents.
