Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently visited the UK, where he met with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.  Mr. Zelensky reminded PM Sunak of what he perceives as his country’s desperate need for fighter jets.

Zelensky said:

“Because we can’t control the sky, we want to create this jets coalition.”

Mr. Sunak then reminded him of the cool training program the UK had set up for Ukrainians to fly NATO standard F-16s. No jets, per se, but training. That’s kind of like teaching a Bedouin Nomad how to swim when he has little hope of ever seeing a pool. Kind of…

Zelensky, however, will not be going home empty-handed. Last week London confirmed that they would be giving Kyiv long-range and badass-sounding “Storm Shadow” cruise missiles. They are capable of destroying targets up to 155 miles away.

Beats the hell out of a kiddie ride.
