An accused Al Qaeda goon awaiting trial in Brooklyn Federal Court for conspiring to kill U.S. troops overseas had contact with top officials of the terrorist organization and participated in an ambush attack that left two servicemen dead on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, prosecutors have disclosed.
Ibrahim Suleiman Adnan Harun was extradited from Italy three years ago on the condition that he would not face the death penalty in connection with the deaths of Private 1st Class Jerod Dennis and Airman 1st Class Raymond Losano who were killed in action on April 25, 2003.
Harun, who was wounded in the firefight, dropped his personal copy of the Koran on the battlefield and the FBI later identified his fingerprint on the holy book, according to court papers.
