The Pic of the Day: US Coast Guard rescues a blast from the past

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Charles David Jr. (WPC-1107) launched a 33-foot Defender-class response boat and rescue crew to troubleshoot for the Pelican of London, a 149-foot sailing vessel with 42 passengers aboard. Its staff was unable to start engines due to an electrical issue.

Coast Guard Seventh District Command Center watchstanders received a notification from the United Kingdom Coordination Center regarding the problem.
