Exercise Balikatan, now in its 35th iteration, is an annual United States–Philippine military training exercise focused on a variety of missions, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, counterterrorism, and other combined military operations. Balikatan is Tagalog phrase which means “shoulder-to-shoulder.”
