German Army advisors in Iraq are training Kurdish fighters to use the Panzerfaust III anti-tank rocket launchers that Germany donated to the Kurds. But training troops in the field to use brand-new weapons isn’t easy, and it’s even harder to train someone to use anti-tank weapons when you don’t have any tanks to destroy.

In the mountains of Kurdistan, the Germans are a long way from the high-tech training grounds of Western Europe. So, they’re improvising. The German Army is using toys and some clever tricks to teach the Kurds how to operate the Panzerfaust III.
