If you plan to use a shotgun for personal defense, you should understand its number one weakness, which is limited capacity. Though people make a habit of touting the power of the 12 gauge, people do not always hit their targets, and people do not always stop when they get shot. That being said, you need to keep an eye on your skill with your shotgun. Get good at the shotgun reload procedures. There are several options and I encourage you to try them out before you get set in one method or another.
