Who does not get excited going to an airshow on a military base? No one! Especially when the airshow is at a Marine Corps Air Station (Oohrah!) and they just happen to display the world’s largest wall of fire ever!

Watch the World Record Largest Wall of Fire!

Apparently, the Marine Corps likes setting worlds records and doing it with walls of fire. How appropriate!

In 2009, Marine Corps Air Station Yuma created a 15-story wall of flame nearly two miles long, setting the world record for Longest Wall of Fire. Tora Tora Tora’s bomb squad and MCAS Yuma Base Operations coordinated the blast along the station’s flight line. The wall of fire was made up of dynamite, electric blasting caps and 20,000 feet of detonation cord.

A new Guinness World Record will be set for the Longest Wall of Fire at this years Yuma Airshow. With the help of the Tora Tora Tora Bomb Squad the Wall of Fire will reach over 15,000 feet long!  – Yuma Airshow

The 2017 Yuma Airshow was highlighted by a performance from the Patriots Jet Team which is the largest civilian-owned aerobatic jet team in the western hemisphere.

The Patriots Jet Team began with the vision of one person, Randy Howell. Fueled by a passion for aviation since childhood, it became Howell’s mission to create a six-jet precision demonstration team that could entertain, inspire, and educate. This mission hit the ground running in 1999. – Patriots Jet Team
